Additional information and guidelines for making requests:

• Request Specificity. Requests must be detailed enough for DCDA to identify the requested record and estimate the production cost. This ensures efficient processing and prevents delays. Broad requests, such as those for “all records” or an “entire file” will require clarification or payment of a search fee.
• Fees. Please note that public records requests may be subject to a fee, calculated to cover the actual cost of providing records in accordance with ORS 192.324. If a fee applies to your request, you will be notified directly. Processing of the request will begin only after full payment has been received.
• Criminal Record: DCDA is generally prohibited from disclosing an individual’s criminal record and cannot fulfill such requests. If you are seeking an individual’s criminal record, please contact the Oregon State Police.
• Defendants/Suspects Requesting Discovery. Do not use this public records request portal if you have a pending court date due to an arrest or citation, or if you are the suspect in a criminal investigation. Discovery materials will be provided at or shortly after your first court appearance.  To request discovery in advance, you may email info@dcda.us. If you are represented by an attorney, they will submit the request on your behalf. If you are not represented by an attorney, you may request one at the initial court appearance.
