Defendant Kristie Jeffers was ordered by Judge Wells Ashby to serve 70 months in the custody of the Oregon Department of Corrections on 9 felony charges, including Burglary in the First Degree, Identity Theft, Forgery in the First Degree and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. DDA Eric Marvin recommend the sentence, which was ultimately imposed by the court, based on a number of factors, including the seriousness of the crimes committed, the sheer number of criminal episodes and Defendant Jeffers’ criminal history, which included 11 prior felony convictions. DDA Marvin noted this sentence, and a respite for the community from the defendant’s criminal activities, was the direct result of the work of the Redmond Police Department, the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office and the City of Bend Police Department.
